    Extractions & Immediate Restoration

    Extractions

Excessive tooth decay, tooth infection, and crowding are some reasons why you may need a tooth extraction. An X-ray of your tooth is necessary to evaluate oral health and identify problem areas. If you’re currently taking any medications or have had previous treatments, please speak to your dentist, in order to determine the appropriate next steps. Depending on whether your tooth is visible or impacted, your tooth extraction will either be simple or surgical.

    Simple extraction

A simple extraction is used if your teeth are visible in the mouth. A local anesthetic will numb the area being worked on in the mouth, intended to reduce pain.

    Surgical extraction

A surgical extraction is used if your teeth are not visible in the mouth. Both local anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia will most likely be used.

    Full mouth extraction

A full mouth extraction is when all the teeth in the mouth need to be removed. The extraction process either occurs all at once, or in multiple appointments.
